About the book

Capitalism is a pure confidence system: it prices value on the collective mood of the market, not against any absolute standard. So it booms and busts, concentrates wealth in the few — and books a newly born human life at a negative NPV. These are not bugs to be managed after the fact; they are properties of the rules.

The McCapitalist Paradigm proposes a hybrid: keep the engine of markets, but anchor it to a single rule — value = human life. Around the whole system runs an absolute value cap that ends value destruction and the boom–bust cycle, while every new life is credited a Mercy Account at the NPV of its needs. The result is a value-based economy with a guaranteed floor under every citizen and the ceiling left fully in place.

The Idea in Brief

Capitalism prices everything except life.

McCapitalism keeps the engine of markets but anchors it to one absolute standard — uniting absolute faith with relative confidence.

The Problem

A pure confidence system books a newborn life at a negative NPV, concentrates wealth upward, and runs on boom and bust.

The Thesis

Set value = human life. Credit every new life a Mercy Account at the NPV of its needs, and cap the system so value is never destroyed.

The Prize

A guaranteed floor under every citizen without removing the ceiling — a sustainable equilibrium, not a confidence cycle.

The Paradigm

What is McCapitalism?

A hybrid economic belief system that subordinates relative-confidence capitalism to one absolute value standard: the value of human life.

McCapitalism keeps markets and leverage, but bounds them inside an absolute cap. It unites absolute faith with relative confidence — the bridge capitalism never built.

St. Augustine described two cities — a City of God connected to an absolute, eternal end, and a City of Men with no end-in-itself, purely relative. McCapitalism's purpose is to build the bridge between them: an absolute frame of reference that links everyday economic life to an end that does not float on sentiment.

The problem

Capitalism prices value on the collective mood of the market. It booms and busts, concentrates wealth upward, and books a new life at a negative NPV — a net cost.

The mechanism

Set value = human life. Credit each life a Mercy Account at the NPV of its needs; an absolute cap ends value destruction and the boom–bust cycle.

The prize

A floor under every citizen without removing the ceiling; sustainable equilibrium; an economy "we the people" can believe in.

The Confidence Cycle

Capitalism runs on a confidence cycle

A pure confidence system can't settle into equilibrium. It climbs on optimism, peaks in euphoria at maximum risk, breaks into fear, and bottoms out in despondency — a boom–bust ride, not a stable economy.

Mc EQUILIBRIUM THAT NEVER HOLDS OPTIMISM EUPHORIA MAX RISK FEAR DESPONDENCY MAX OPPORTUNITY …and again BOOM BUST The Crisis of Confidence Coaster Who gets caught holding the bag?
Stability is impossible under pure relativism — the ride repeats by design, not by accident.
The Comparison

How the hybrid differs

Capitalism and socialism are both pure confidence systems — they differ on who steers, not on what value is. The hybrid changes the basis of value itself.

The Paradigm Test

Will McCapitalism replace capitalism as “normal science”?

In Thomas Kuhn’s terms, will McCapitalism lead to a paradigm shift in the economic belief system?
